Cruise Terminal(Tiffany21 Terminal) is within 10 minutes walk from the Workshop place. We will provide the dinner on the cruise ship. The Cruise course and terminal location(Tiffany 21 Terminal) are shown in Figures.

Excursion

After morning session on Tuesday, August 30, we are going to Gyeongju (Bulguksa temple and Seokgulam). The excursion is free to all registered participants. We will provide a lunch box in the bus and Korean cuisine buffet meal for dinner.
The excursion will depart at noon and return to the workshop venue around 9 PM.

Bulguksa Temple

is the representative relic of Gyeongju and was designated as a World Cultural Asset by UNESCO in 1995. The beauty of the temple itself and the artistic touch of the stone relics are known throughout the world. Bulguksa Temple was built in 528 during the Silla Kingdom, in the 15th year of King Beop-Heung's reign (514-540). The temple was originally called ‘Hwaeom Bulguksa Temple’ or ‘Beopryusa Temple’ and was rebuilt by Kim Dae-Seong (700-774), who started building the temple in 751 during the reign of King Gyeong-Deok (in power 742-765) and completed it in 774 during the reign of King Hye-Gong (in power 765-780). Upon completion, the temple’s name was changed to ‘Bulguksa.'

Technical Tour

After morning session on Thursday, September 01, we are going to visit the KBSI and KIRAMS. The technical tours are free to all registered participants, and a lunch box will be provided during the bus trips. All tours depart at 12:00 and will return in time for dinner (about 5:30 p.m.).

The Korea Basic Science Institute (KBSI)

establishes and manages the world's leading high-technology large-scale research activities and operates joint research for the promotion of basic science, and provides continual research assistance for universities, enterprises, and both private and government research institutes. Especially, Busan center of KBSI are developing a 28 GHz superconducting ECR ion source and an heavy ion accelerator.


KIRAMS

(Korea Institute of Radiological & Medical Sciences) started out as the Radiation Medicine Research Center in 1963, and contributed to the promotion of Korea's science and technology as well as public health as a pioneer of national radiological medicine. It was renamed as the Korea Cancer Center Hospital in 1973 and the National Radiation Emergency Medical Center was established in 2002. In 2007, it was reborn as the Korea Institute of Radiological & Medical Sciences under the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, with affiliates such as the Korea Cancer Center Hospital, Research Institute of Radiological & Medical Sciences, National Radiation Emergency Medical Center, and Dongnam Institute of Radiological & Medical Sciences.
